Re: RACY THOUGHTS
Hi Poetry,
I know of a couple of natural alternative that help with racey thoughts. They are Rescuse Remedy or Avena Copp Sedative drops. You can get both at Healtheries 2000 and as they are heomopathic they are safe with meds and no weighty side effects.

Re: RACY THOUGHTS
I would associate raccy thoughts with bipolar disorder. So some sort of moodstabiliser. Weight gain is frequently a problem on these meds. When I first read the title I thought you ment risque, I thought this looks interesting.

Re: RACY THOUGHTS
Hi Meluare and welcome to TBBD, Um yep I am bipolar - sheeks ah. I'm on a mood stabiliser and recently started an AD. I still have too many thought in my head. In fact 'Too many thoughts in my head' kick started my breakdown a psychotic one. I'm hoping this AD will help with the cocktail of labels, I've been labeled with. The ups and downs and sideways are pretty daunting. Thank the heavens for beautiful NZ sunsets.

Poetry Iam sorry to hear about your condition its everywhere. Iam not that good at chat Iam a nerdy information kind of guy. Have the raccy thoughts got worse on the AD you recently started? Possibly your meds are out of balance. Antidepressants can induce manic symptoms or reduce the effectiveness of mood stabilisers. I would guess your Doc needs to increase the moodstabilisers and or reduce the antidepressants. Have you told your Doc of your problems with these racing thoughts, it could be he doesnt have room to move with having to control all your other symptoms. You must have severe bipolar to get psychosis, probably nothing except meds will give significant benefit. You will know about exercise. You wouldnt be able to sit still long enough to meditate, I only have cyclothymia and I would never be able to clear my mind for half an hour. Your post is very positive, keep a close watch on your behavior and feelings, be careful the racing thoughts could be preceding more serious symptoms. Contact your Doc if your getting to high. Goodluck poetry.

dEAR pOETRY
MY BRILLIANT Psychiatrist has treated mw with clomipramine and lorazepam for my ocd/anxiety/and depression.
Since the racing tumbling thoughts arer much slowed there are no panic attacks any more and depression knocked on the head. Improved mood notices with Evening Primrose and Fish oil (well documented)

Re: RACY THOUGHTS
Hi Poetry...I hope that you found something that helps with your racy thoughts
Im not trying to run off with your thread but I have a question for Martine.
Martine I have tried taking fish oil in the past but kept burbing it which made me dry retch. I simply can't handle the taste...yea yea wussy, I know...do you know of any fish oil capsules/tablets that don't give people fishy burbs?

LOL Britelite
Burp away
Thanks Martine, it is so nice to hear medications are working for you. To beat anxiety is huge, the world is a much easier place to get about in.
I think I have the right meds on board now, I'm coping so much better, still have anxiety but I am moving...I am doing stuff which is wonderful.

Re: RACY THOUGHTS
Dear Poetry
If you are financial enough can you buy yourself one of those wonderful meditating / relaxation CDS??
They work wonders truly and they just lift your head out of it for a while to get you breathing and relaxed again.
I think you can even download them off youtube but I am too dense to tell you how to do that.
Love to you and scream at your panics "Get away get away you've done your worst and you haven't taken me out yet!"
Thats what the great Dr Claire Weekes teaches us panic merchants,
Love Martinex

Re: RACY THOUGHTS
Dear BRITE I don't care if you are burping dead mutton birds dear as long as your mood is kept up which it will be if you are taking the stuff.
I take 4 a day.
you CAN buy the "odourless" variety which rack up about 15 bucks more than the fishy ones.
But also (if you can manage? swallow them with a cup of milk which in itself will make you stop burping due to the chemical CASEIN in milk.
I just feel the extra cost is an outrage.
Love to you Martine

Re: RACY THOUGHTS
Bah Humbug...(to do a Paddy)...I tried odourless fish oil capcules...yep the don't smell...yep they don't taste...BUT THE BLOODY THINGS STILL BURB!!!!!
Never thought to down them with milk though...Im not really a milk person...might see if I can convince myself to give them another go then ae.
I actually tried mutton bird years ago and I rather liked it, don't remember it repeating either, so I would be quite happy if someone could produce fish oil caps that tasted like mutton bird hehehehe
My "settle pettle" drug of choice has been ciggies for about 22 years.
Well...foolish me...I gave them up 7 months ago using zyban. Since then I have been swinging my pendulum way to close to the block. So yesterday I finally went through with a visit to the doc's. I am now a certified nutjob with the pills to prove it hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Flax oil can be a substitute for fish oil, may be a bit different.
Glad everything is going well for you poetry.

Re: RACY THOUGHTS
Dear Poetry
I hope you are reining in the racing thoughts or are able to corral them somewhat better now.I see the doctors are prescribing benzo's more frequently now (lorazepam). I work round the Christchurch hospitals and have noticed this and asked.
The current thinking ( I asked a teenage Indian psyche consultant) and he said its easier to get you off the benzo's than have to get "them" down from a tree.
Made sense to me.
