Green Prescription

Hi everyone!

I discovered this week that I was entitled to a green prescription, the depression and anxiety are the qualifiers. It means I can get into the local pools for half price! I thought I would pass the information on in case anyone else can get a good deal in their own areas. Always worth a try I guess.

I did the green prescription a few months ago. I now have a very cheap gym membership at $10 a week, with unlimited access to the pools, spa, sauna and stream room too.

I feel excited about tackling my depression through exercise as opposed to medication.

I am going to the local gym on medical advice and am finding the exercise certainly helps the depression, and am getting to know other people which is a bonus for this very shy zin. Sounds like Jaffakiwi has a good deal there at your gym. I thought the pools would be good for me as an extra option to make sure I don't just focus on the gym too much. my docter put me on green piscription but i havent been offered cheap gym or any thing like that

Awww, poor Littlestar, that is sad I didn't want anyone to feel bad, I promise dear. I guess different areas must have different rules, snuffle. I know our local gym doesn't offer discounts for a green prescription. I am not sure what is available down your way. Gosh, I'd just love to simply be able to go to the pool, gym, walk out in public etc....my phobias put the brakes on one hell of a lot. As if depression with its deep black pools isnt hard enough to deal to.

Anyone entitled and able, go for it hey, before its gone again.
