family- If only they knew
Does anyone else here know how it feels to be rejected by their family's???
Isn't it the worst feeling in the world when one of your parents abandon you, treat you terribly, and yet you find upon viewing that EVERYONE around them thinks that they are god?
Their Saviour??
The one who understands them best??
I think, personally, that it is an insult.
'If only they knew' i always think to myself!!!
If only they knew. Would they really think that he was so gifted? So understanding.
I hope not.

Re: family- If only they knew
Hi noodlesmum ......... Yes, I know what it's like to have family who are 'present but unavailable' ......... not easy to deal with at all.
And very hard when people tell you things like - he's a great guy, or similar!
Over time I have built up some 'new family' - people I choose to have in my life.
There is a little book called 'Illusions' by Richard Bach ... (in time you may get the impression that I love books - and I have found them very helpful! I know books aren't for everyone) ..... anyway, he says something like this:
'The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof' ........
Some of us need to build a 'new family' ..... Daze

Re: family- If only they knew
Dear Noodle
hello and I agree with you that some family members can be poisonous and we are expected to love and revere them simply because they are our mother/father/sister/brother etc.
Leave the other family members with their illusions, you know otherwise, and forumulate your own new family as you move through life. There are some thoroughly decent people out there.
