I love it when my daughter gives me a spontaneous cuddle. I recall this whenever I notice negative thoughts/feelings interrupting my mood. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Re: The good things in your day :)
Overall day was a shocker but the good thing is pretty bloody good....was at tech looking through my bag and realised my keys weren't there.....rushed out to car and there was a note saying they were in a local shop stuck to my window...this after I'd been parked there for well over an hour and in the middle of otara.....had left my keys in the car door......so that was the good thing for me....my car didn't get pinched and a lovely person handed my keys in.....

Re: The good things in your day :)
Good on you LG I love swimming, its rather relaxing.
I went riding twice over the weekend, on saturday I took phil down some random paths in the forest and got kinda lost. Told her to take me home, and she took me thru the forest along the most winding path (you couldnt even see the path) and I just let her pick her way, and she took me home. Gosh I love that horse

Re: The good things in your day :)
Goodness, I've had a run of visitors - one last week, one today; I'm going to need a Social Secretary at this rate, gosh.
And tomorrow I have a long-awaited medical appointment, for which me fingers is crossed, etc.
Life is good, even for a miserable old sod like me, some days. Who'da thunk, eh?

Re: The good things in your day :)
Well, I'm very spoilt, because I've just returned home from having a flash coffee with Mrs & Mr. Daze, who are absolutely lovely folk. And Molly, who is such a friendly dog and quite a character.
Folly, 'Thank You' for the hug, it was delivered, by Daze, just as promised.
Thanks for making the effort to visit, it really made my day.
I hope that everyone is having an enjoyable and safe day? Take care.

Re: The good things in your day :)
I just had one of the best weekends ever. It was my 21st bday on friday which actually went kinda crap (lots of fighting and stressing over the party). But we had the party saturday night and it was fantastic, lots of family and a few friends came. I had a book out for everyone to sign and just reading thru that puts me in a fantastic mood.
Plus things with me and bf are going amazing at the mo

Re: The good things in your day :)
Hi lil miss, happy birthday hun. Gosh I remember my eldest daughters 21st and the disagreements. Wish I could change that, but my youngest just had hers a few weeks back and it was amazing. I bet your parents, would have wanted it to be so wonderful for you, but hun, sometimes we are maybe so tired that we just get so stressed and sometimes we mess up. Great that you a visitors book, as you will look back in future years and laugh. I'm sure your parents and family are so very proud of you. Big hugs

Re: The good things in your day :)
One thing i've learnt after all these years is it's often about perspective. Not that is always easy or achievable to have a positive outlook, sometimes it's not, but when i'm struggling i remember this quote:
'There are flowers everywhere for those who bother to look'.
Based on that quote i can usually find something in my day that was good, even if it was brief.

Re: The good things in your day :)
Really enjoyed reading through this thread and getting to know members a little more.
I am happy for getting to listen and watch Susan Boyle on tube - she touched my heart, and the worlds......
I am happy that the grapes are ripening and the bitterness is turning sweet, I am going to take them to the centre i go to to share with everyone.
I am happy that i am dressed have keys in pocket to get lead and when i log off am going straight out the door with my pooch for a walk. I am taking my camera with me, and am going to photograph the little things we miss sometimes on our travels.
I am happy for finding this site and for the beautiful people who are helping me stay safe. A special mention for Daze - huge hugs and thank you for the inspiration, the books, your kindness.
A special mention to Paddy also for creating this site, for your humour, and insight. HUGs

Re: The good things in your day :)
Hi Jaffakiwi
For me it was that the crowd laughed at her, rolled their eyes.....then she sang beautifully - she knew what was going on..... but she believed in herself,. Also it was knowing that her life had been on hold and now she is living for her...for her dream. Her dream was to sing in front of a huge audience and she did it!! The song touched me too because of the words.
That's what i felt...... people are judged all the time.... she believed in herself - worthy of my praise and tears of joy for her moment of glory. I suspect more to come...at the end she was emotional, my thoughts were that she was thinking of her mother and her promise...
Also when she said she had never been kissed... Felt for her...
Poetry

For me, its the way folk support each other here even though you may well be hurting yourselves.
And for me too, when I've reached to rock-bottom, pain wise and I wonder why I even bother trying sit her cos it hurts so much, and then someone posts something like this, that just has to make a grouchy old sod smile, despite himself:))
