The Phrase 'Mental Illness'. I don't like it.
Got it. At last!
I’ve always hated the negative perceptions (and facts) inherent in the term ‘Mental Illness’ and I’ve tried all sorts of combination of words to find a replacement diagnosis tag with a lesser ability to result in stigmatisation .
May I have the honour of suggesting that henceforth, in my case at least, the term ‘Mental Illness’ be abandoned and in its place be the diagnosis ‘Intracranial Fecalitis or by more common name, ‘Shit for Brains.’
I feel much happier now and have no problem agreeing with that as a descriptive diagnosis for me. And remember, you heard it here first!
Paddy.
