Hello Dad
It’s me
Can you see me?
I’m small
No I’m not in real estate or the diplomatic corps,
Yes I do pray to God and I ask for his love, I hear you asking me from above
I look for his light
I look for you
Alcohol sips stolen from sight, quietly making your heavy heart light
It’s not what they prescribe
Was your smile really real
Did your pain hide so well
Your words strange and slow
Did anyone know
Dad, it’s me
I knew
I know it now
Life is a theatre with me on its stage
Can you see me?
I’m small
It’s me
Can you see me?
I’m small
No I’m not in real estate or the diplomatic corps,
Yes I do pray to God and I ask for his love, I hear you asking me from above
I look for his light
I look for you
Alcohol sips stolen from sight, quietly making your heavy heart light
It’s not what they prescribe
Was your smile really real
Did your pain hide so well
Your words strange and slow
Did anyone know
Dad, it’s me
I knew
I know it now
Life is a theatre with me on its stage
Can you see me?
I’m small
