Ideas to help us !
I would like to invite people to share ideas of help !
A thing I find that helps me and may help people here is to rearrange a room now and then or just a revamp to create a positive change in your life that you can create and control ?.
I also find writing things an feelings down helps especially to take to a appointment to show how you feel without worries of forgetting or not being able to speak at the time of the appointment.
For all that visit

Re: Ideas to help us !
Believe even just a the room around a little bit or even redecorating a little bit helps. After all when were at our lowest we would much rather be at home in bed with the curtains closed. A good place to start. New curtains, new duvet cover ect.
My darling is spot in what he has sugguested and has lined himself up into job helping me revamp my cave.

Re: Ideas to help us !
totally agree!!!
i love to revamp a room
makes it feel new and special
i love making things fit
is sooooo good for the soul
to sit or lay in a room that you have just rearranged
as they say, a change is as good as a holiday
so true!!

Re: Ideas to help us !
Bah Humbug.
Alright, you lot - now you've made me feel all left out of your feel good ideas.
Tell me, how does a bloke with multilpe spinal fractures etc hurl his furniture around to 'change stuff', mmm?
A bloke who needs to use two hands to carry a cuppa coffee, a bloke who has tears in his eyes from the effort of pegging a few things on a head-high clothesline? A bloke who needs a wee machine to help pick up stuff he drops? A bloke who don't much even like visitors, far less the thought of home help doing stuff for him. A bloke for whom a return trip to the electric jug and his 'favourite chair' to get a hot drink, is an physically exhausting act. mmm? A bloke who has days when he can't even get to his letterbox unless he uses a mobility scooter and crutches? mmmm? A bloke who maybe, experiences numbness racing down his body from his neck, each time he sits at his computer? A bloke who doesn't even feel the pain of mangled toes when they whack into a doorframe in the dark.
Nope, I'm NOT doing Origami. Or cooking. Or playing cards. But I'm bloody intersted in ya ideas (and to see ya's wriggle outta this one - ya see, we's all might know a bit about others mental illnesses here, but as in every community there other other disabilities here too at TBBD - profound deafness, Cochlear Implants, impaired vision, colour blindness, crook 'squiggly bits inside of us' - all sorts a things - so remember you Lot, TBBD is a pretty fair representation of 'us', real people out there in what ever communities you and we live in.
So yeah, wriggle away. pffft.
I don't mean any of this Post nastily - its just a reminder of how easy it is to assume that someone has at least the same physical capabilities as you, even if maybe they choose to not use them. Some of us don't have that choice, I guess is what I'm saying.
A damn good Thread, but. It's good to see positives and options being discussed and suggested etc.
BrokedBack Paddy.

Awww paddy, come on sweet. Remember the great things you have available that others don't. For starters your intellect, you have it and you mostly use it. Use it hun and get others to help, should you need to revamp. You have sooo much going for you that others don't. A gentle kick up the butt for you. Hugs Pam.

Re: Ideas to help us !
Pam,
Thanks hon.
I think that TBT might have been the unauthorised author of the earlier post in this Thread under my name. It sounds awfully grouchy and um, self-pitying, doesn't it?
It must have been the cat. Maybe there is a lesson here about logging out, when you wander off from the computer Paddy?
Bad Cat.

Re: Ideas to help us !
I find it useful to get into the creative mode and get my knitting needles out. If I do not have the concentration for a big project I make baby knits and donate them to the local hospice shop.
