This sucks. It's 1.39am on Thursday and last night at 8.40pm, I took enough serious pain meds and enough sleeping pills and enough 'calm down pills' to give even a really sore person a few hours sleep, I'da thought. But it looks like once again, I thought wrong. Bugger.

I'm a bit less sore (Thank Fuck) that when I went to be at 8.4 last night, but I aint much closer to sleep yet. Oh Sleep, where are you? :

i feel for you paddy. I am also having trouble getting to sleep, but not because of pain. Just the trying can be so frustrating...

making a sound to coincide with the level of pain one is experiencing
starts with a Hum,
or a slight outward going noise that gradually you raise-up the scales, slowly, seeing at what pitch the sound effects the symptoms of the Pain in your Body.
This allows one to attune (atone) the mind to pain at a vibrational level.
Mind focussing on Pain at a vibrational level has the effect of shattering the
compaction of conciousness,which pain is.

Dont be afraid,
it(pain) hurts more when youre not into it!
Thats the objective stance.What we are trying to do here,is find a gentel-way into the heart of pain.
Its a little like the Eye of the Hurricane;we get buffetted about here an there and are put in turmoil as we get on the move, but we gently drive ourselves into the eye where peace and stillness is (found) realised.

Having found it(peace and solitude)Dont worry about it where the pain went,
because if you do and go and look for where the Pain went,
You will find it is still there,
just alittle less.

Mind needs the thinker to re-unite with its essence,
in this case the thought.
Thinker and thought make up the mind.


What we do is bring the two together by softly attuning to the 'pains level of vibration'
by sounding out a tone,and when its matched(it shows when youre on the Money,
by slight variations in the pain itself), you stay at this level of the Humming,
and allow yourself to go into the flow,
into the vibrations of your humming.

Getting into it is allowing yourself to enter into the flow,once the 'matching-level' is reached.
At first,you have to wander about over and under the pain,
untill you SEE that something is happening,
then you allow the SEER to stay at that 'key-note' and enter....go there.

Hi Paddy, I joined you in the no sleep through pain last night , I was beside myself ...took two codeine and it still didn't seem to help a lot, but the pain is better today ....It has got to the stage that I'm looking forward to surgery on the 2nd of March, even though I'm scared as well.

Hope the pain is easing and you have got some sleep.

GM,

Thanks mate, I've tried the 'nice calm thoughts' stuff, 'n the 'Whale Sounds' CD and even at about 3.20 this morning, a packet of Hot Cross Buns. But Nup. Now I just feel tired, sore n fat.

(Originally, I was only gunna have two buns, then I thought, ah to hell with it, I'll have two more, then I saw the last two in the packet looked very lonely, so I dealt to them as well : Embarassed ) so I guess its time to take the Fuckit Approach?

I managed to doze off in my chair at some stage but my eyes are so damn sore its not funny anymore.

Tonight, I am going to sleep. I aint worked out just how yet, but it will happen. I reckon I need at least four or five hours sleep and come hell or high water, I'm going to get it.

E.A., I hope that you have a much better night tonight, Best Wishes for your surgery, its not long now, aye? flower

Paddy,

I dont think whales farting about is gonna send anyone to sleep if theyre in pain.

Tone-ing is an active method,
not a soft-way at all.Often one finds emotions that One didnt know they had when one surrenders into the process.Invest in it and see what comes.

Also,Paddy,
you may find loud-music with headphones on will do the (distraction thing)better than (spiritual-type)music. Something you used to listen to before the accident,something to spirit you away.
Favorites.

I will send you some good vibes next time i sit to meditate.....

look to find,
different ways
to relate to Pain EA.


Sleep is good,unconciousness is black.

To look at Pain directly
is to Increase pain!
Energy goes to where your mind is focussed at that time,
and this has the effect of compounding the Pain
even more so as
Pain is already compacted conciousness,
a dense cloud of blacknred
trying to expand back into its usual location in the universe.

Distraction works.

Distraction is what occurs when we have had pain for such a long while
that we are exhausted to hell(feeling feathery-like)
and a sound is heard outside the Home.
Such as a Birds chirping,something that grabs your attention.
Keeping the Mind focussed in that direction,
and extending this 'hearing' whilst 'looking' for Other new sounds is what we do
to get further and further out-there,in Nature,amongst the Beauty of it all.

We like to feel beautiful,
it reminds us of our natural healthy state of being when we are fine.
Explore gently these distractions,
and allow yourself to add to this with your own creativity;where the mind(your Mind)adds to the scenes
you may have dreamed up into your conciousness,so that you can take small
or big journies into your Mind,
Your heart will create the scenery!

Mind is a Safe place to Be.

In our minds
magic can happen,as in going to sleep at NIGHT,
when one has a brilliantly vivid dream,and awakens totally refreshed knowing that something marvelous has happened,but maybe not knowing what.
Sometimes we forget these dreams,
yet they still have an effect of changing our lives,some times quite radically.

Distraction can also be had in music.
Read my posts to paddy.
There are some suggestions there
that maybe of use
for you there EM.
