Aawwe BL@@DY CRAP!...........What to say to husband?

Post by angiebabe on Mon Mar 30, 2009 8:39 am

Cool Well have so far, I've had 2 great visits with my pyscholgist---1 only today at 9am which went well and we are uncovering some "DEEP" stuff that had affected me--(when I was ONLY 17 yrs old-without me knowing it would) so we are dealing with it and processing my thoughts/feelings on it and then laying it to rest!

I came away feeling a little relief and perhaps better...............until = Hubby says.......

SO our marriage is strained and we have to deal with you being so depressed and all that and its all caused by some cunt you knew 20 yrs ago - well before me or the children where in your life??!!! Whats with that?

And I'm sitting next to him on the couch and then this is my face: What a Face --then this: confused

What could I have said back to him?

How about, 'Thanks dear, that was so well said and supremely tactful that maybe next time you could just dispense with words and use the lighter and gentler touch of a sledgehammer.'

Dont get me wrong--I didn't come on here to bag him

Post by angiebabe on Mon Mar 30, 2009 8:23 pm

But I was just abit shell-shocked----and IMEDIATELY my Mood dropped! Crying or Very sad

He has put up with alot from me and mostly its from my illness--which I have ONLY just started to acknowledge recently---so he has been understanding in most aspects.

BUT he knows now I go and visit my Pyshcologist every Monday-----BUT I cant open up and say what good work we did if hubby is always going to pester me to find out what happened and what did we talk about? Suspect

So now I'm feeling quite fragile and confused. pale

Talk to him and discuss that some of the things you are discussing with your shrink are new to you and leaveing you raw and you are not able to open up with him just yet. Ask him to be understanding and that you will be fully open with him when you are able to comfitably do so.

Awww that must of been hard! My husband and I talk almost daily about how Im feeling and if I know why I feel a certain way.I too have things from my past that have affected me deeply and I havent realised that until recently. Ive asked my husband to be patient and listen if I need to talk and to comfort me when Im upset but dont want to talk. Its hard for people on the outside looking in to understand what goes on in our minds because its not something people who arent going through it understand

I was thinking that maybe a good reply would of been..
"yes hon that's right. And look how pissed off you are about it, imagine how I'm feeling"

can't stress enough 'communication' from my own experience....let him into your world..small steps hun. I like take_1_ba_brekky comment. Never too late to open that same conversation up again and explain how you felt. Let him know you love him and appeciate him in your life -suggestion only: To your partner " think of the future when this 'guy' is outta of our lives for good"....HUGS flower

Hey Angiebabe is there a Supporting Familes (SF) office in your region? They are the old schizcophenia Fellowship and have evolved into general mental health issues.

The one here has workshops, phamphlets etc and may be another resoucre for you to use.
