So I finally gave in

Have been hassled yet again by the guy who abused me. He been ringing my cell, thank goodness for caller id.

I finally gave in and got a new phone and number. It is a real hassle as all my work, mh contacts etc have my cell.

Sorry to hear you have been abused. You must have told the story before I came along so I am not up with what he has been doing to you but it is annoying to have to change your number just for one person. You can't even put a message on your old number to direct people to your new number as that would defeat the whole purpose of getting the new phone. Anyway hope this will solve the problem and you will have one less thing to worry about.
