Cooked my microwave -HELP!!!!!!
Hi all
The burnt away part happened in an instant?? I believe it was due to forgetting how long I re-heated a cup of coffee - possibly got wet?
(ok that was a wee white lie - i believe instead of 30sec i pushed 3 mins????)
Right on door closure - not sparking or anything - fire risk - don't think so.
SOLUTION: CAN I JUST PAINT SOME ENAMAL WHITE PAINT OVER IT???
HELP!!!
Tried to load a pic..try again later..

Morning poetry,
Clearly you were not hanging out for that coffee to leave it there that long, lol.
Anyway, what do you mean burnt away part?. Do you just mean there is burn stain?.

Re: Cooked my microwave -HELP!!!!!!
think I would try riging a repair person and asking if it would be ok to just pop some paint on or if they think it might mean you have damaged the microwave internally...also to ask what would be the right paint to use
and I wouldn't be wanting my mummy if I did this...she would get to much of a laugh out of it!!

Re: Cooked my microwave -HELP!!!!!!
Thanks all
I rang Electrical appliances - fix (needed some encouragement here) thank you britelite.
I asked the man what paint to use, told him the brand. He said he had, had one like it and used some old paint from a can. I asked about acrylic yeah go for it "If it blows up it blows up" then laughed... I joined in , in a manly sorta way, while inside i was doing the girly scream.
So painted on acrylic white, waited for it to dry, then using a microwave safe container (very careful now) put a bit of water in it.... and it didn't blow up, and the paint is still there. So yeah
When i pondered more about this problem i had and type of paint, using enamel or polyurethane to cover acrylic - wouldn't that be more dangerous? fumes etc?
Fingers crossed problem solved. I have learnt my lesson ...Microwave is NOT to be used for reheating coffee! And cover everything!!!! no splashes!!
Thank you

Re: Cooked my microwave -HELP!!!!!!
When I was at work I used a thermo cup. Helps keep it hot for 30 min plus. They cost about $15 - $20 from camping stores or starbucks.

a thermo cup sounds like a fantastic idea Roswell!!!
but don't banish you cat cup to the back of the top cupboard poetry...just change its username...from coffee cup to milk/water/lemonade cup...which ever is your favorite COLD beverage!!!
and your microwave looks well healed...and I am glad I could be of some assistance

Re: Cooked my microwave -HELP!!!!!!
Another way you can use your cat cup so you dont have to get rid if it is as a pen holder on your desk.

I'm thinking Roswell, that maybe I should get on of those thermo cups, I have forgotten what a hot cup of anything tastes like, lol.
