Confidentiality issues
Hi there, wasnt sure where to post this topic but anyhow, my GP referred me to mental health and I precisly told my GP that it was to be strictly confidential ie no involvement from my family. My doctor stated this in my referal and then 2 weeks later I missed a call from one of the mental health nurses and because I dont want the reeferal anymore I dodnt bother ringing back, anyway today my mum got a phoen call from the mental health nurse which has started a huge conflict, isnt this illegal to do this as I am 19.

Re: Confidentiality issues
It is a tricky area. Really she should not have identified herself as being from community mental health and rung back later or asked if your mother had a cellphone number she could contact you on.
There is a mental health organisation in Wellington that went through a name change a few years ago from Wellington Mental Health COnsumers Union to Aspire. Part of the reason they changed their name was there was complaints when they left a voice message on the answerphone.
I would advise you to make a written complaint to the Community Mental Health team.
