I can't say that I have had that happen - poor you and what a difficult thing to try and cope with.

Perhaps a female doctor? Do you have access to one? Have you sought Councilling? What about ACC councilling?

They may help..

Take care of yourself ay julz51 - we care

Hi Julz..
My thoughts are with you.. what you experienced is terrible and he was so absolutely wrong and what happened is not in any way your fault.

I have PTSD - brought on initially by childhood sexual abuse I experienced until almost 22 years old, and find it affects a lot of what I do, or what happens to me.. it's no fun living on edge, being jumpy and feeling scared of many things.

Reminding myself of this helps a little -

'PTSD is a normal response to an abnormal situation that was/is life threatening or substantially life-changing.'

It was believed that war experiences caused the biggest effect on a person, including with PTSD - I understand that it's now accepted that sexual abuse and/or sexual assault have the biggest effect, including with PTSD, on a person.. it's not hard to understand why..

I found the info in the NZ Mental Health Foundation site helps:
http://www.mentalhealth.org.nz/resourcefinder/listings/resource/197/post-traumatic-stress-disorder/#content-695

.. and there's more info here..
http://www.mentalhelp.net/poc/center_index.php?id=109&cn=109

Take gentle care of you.. hugs for you..
