Safe chat websites?

Hey. Just wondering if any of you know of any safe chat websites? i spend all day on the computer, so figure i might as well try and meet people somehow. Even if it is only conversation via text, it is some kind of human contact - which i dont get much of.
So if any of you know of some safe ones to use i would be so greatful so hear about them. I've joined some thinking they would/should be okay, but end up just being disgusting with horrid people.

It doesn't have to always be a grim and dour place, it is permissable to have fun in there too. Not too much, but a smidgen might be acceptable?

Through this site members have mentioned Trade me, so i went and had a look around. Go to community - then feel the vibe. I don't know about a chat room, but have found it really interesting as it has a lot of different topics, books, craft/hobbies, etc parenting seems to have the highest number of posts.

I am probably the last person on earth lol that actually knows about that link. I have been on trade me for ages dahhhh

The outfit that hosts TBBD is called Forumotion - thats a free Forum hosting place, based in France, I think.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, there are untold different Forums (Fora?) here within Forumotion.net.

Just, don't forget to come back here, and don't forget too, that we have our own redirect URL thats easy to remember - www.thebigblackdog.co.nz is less of a mouthful than https://thebigblackdog.forumotion.net/

My only knowledge of them is that I know they are all sites that are for sale right now (I check that kinda stuff for ideas sometimes). I'm not recommending them, or anything, just saying they're there and who knows, someone might enjoy one or more of them.
