I just play the main game, not the 5 x 5 one

thats cool. you just make words from the letters, the only catch is that the letters have to touch each other in order to make the word. This can be vertically horizonially or diagonally or a mix of all, as long as each letter touches the next one in the word.

It takes most newbies a little bit to see the words and get good scores for a bit, so don't worry too much

Just a warning, sometimes some idiots use the chat feature - I just totally ignore them .
