An Easy Way

I wish there was an easy way
To tell you how I feel today,
To be able to explain the reasons
Behind the sadness that I feel.

I don’t like to use excuses
But they are the easiest,
It makes people think that I’m happy
And then they leave me alone.

But what I really need is someone who’s there
To see through what I say,
To look into my eyes and see the sadness I feel.

Someone to take the time
To sit with me and listen,
To be patient and let me work out what to say.

There is no easy way
To tell you why I feel this way
But if you could take the time to listen
Maybe today would be ok.

A Part Of Me

I lost a part of me one day,
A part no-one can see however hard they look
This part was inside me, you held it in your arms
A part of my heart that I’d given to you.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you
I do not regret giving this part to you
I know you’ll take care of it so very well
That’s why I trusted a part of my heart

After You Are Gone

The pain lives on long after you are gone
The hurt I felt that day is like no other
It never leaves,
It sits there inside me, tormenting me.
Even after all these years the pain only fades
Thoughts and memories are still there.
It’s gotten easier over time,
I know now that I was not to blame
I understand why you done what you did
You felt you had to, that there was no other way out.
I’ll always have been there for you,
To talk and to listen.
