My dog & cat died this year but I find even going to the pet shop & checking out the kittens & puppies gladdens the heart. I visit everytime at the shopping centre.

Re: Pics of pets (cos they help so much)
This isn't a pic, but I'll share it anyway.
Last year, my girl lost a horse to bloat. Sam was his name. He was a 'memory-link', if you like, to times when I was with my daughter. So, ole Sam was special to me too.
Anyway, here is my Requiem for Sam. And I offer it now to all who have lost treasured pets and companions.
Requiem for Sam.
Gallop Free.
Beneath springtime’s limitless azure skies
Warmed by the beating wings of Pegasus
Is a waiting pasture as perfect as any ever seen.
So gallop free old friend. Your time has come.
Bordered by a single-strand marshmallow fence
Both white and pink of course – you think
That any more need hold a friend? Not for old Sam.
So gallop free old friend. Your time has come.
Encircled by a field of finest meadow grasses
A canopy of weeping willows jostle for space beside an
Oasis fit for the memory of an old and cherished chum.
So gallop free old friend. Your time has come.
I fear ‘tis now time to stretch out your neck and feel
Once more the wind ruffling gently through your mane.
Prick back those ears. Go; run free as with the wind.
So gallop free old friend. Your time has come.
And as the very wind sighs and seems to cry
Your name so too we will sometimes cry remembering
Those times we shared, both good and not.
So gallop free old friend. Your time has come.
Oh our dear friend Sam. You asked for so little, and
Yet gladly seemed to give back far more than you ever got.
Loyal and vice-less, ‘cept for that mãnyãnã trot.
So gallop free old friend. Your time has come.
Run freely now Samuel, run once more old friend.
Yes our dear old Sam, old placid plodding Sam,
We ache now you’ve gone, but Thank You for having been.
So gallop free old friend. Your time has come.
Oh, poor old Sam. Kind-natured Sam, our Star of silver screen.
Run free, our Sam. Run now as if you are the wind. Immortal now,
Alive in our memories of you. That’s our Sam.
So gallop free old friend, our love rides with you.
