Ah, I see. Your first Post was in the Ladies Room and I'm too much of a Gentleman to peek in there. So I didn't get to read your post.

C'mon girls, how come there are unanswered posts in the Ladies? Eh?

Its not always easy doing this stuff without a bit of a friendly shoulder to lean on from time to time, so I hope that manage to find ways to lessen the load from time to time.?

Hi Traceylee, nice to meet you. Good on you for reaching out and being open to having friends! Too often i shy away from friendships or i just turn into a nasty cow *shrugs* but anyhow this place is great and im sure you will meet some lovely people who all enjoy a good laugh and chat! All the best to you Traceylee!

*waves to paddy* i just started typing this reply but you beat me to it! Im a slow typer!

Hi there TL

I am mylife, and have had a shocking couple of days...so haven't been my usual nosey self on this site.

You will see I normally post and reply to most things here - only because I am nosey you see.

You are only a year younger than me, and I know it will be hard for you. I struggle with this myself and was diagnosed only a month - 6 weeks ago.

Fortunatly for me I do have a very supportive partner and can only imagine how much harder this would be for you with out a support partner at home. Do you have a really good friend you can call when you feel low? Perhaps you could both start a hobby or sport where you will meet new people.

I really hate the crying part, it makes me feel weak but I figure that it is just part in parcel of it all. I just have to accept it, which is painful.

I am proud of you posting here. It takes alot of nerve to start talking - even through a machine. But it does help, and I don't judge, never.

Perhaps you might like to start up your own thread, full of your thoughts, both good and bad? Would that help? Slap a DO NOT REPLY on it if you feel like it (and hopefully people will adhere to it).

I found that very useful when I started up my jnl.

Please feel free to chat! and for goodness sake, stick around!!

Hi traceylee ... it is hard to meet people sometimes - I've lived in many different places. The last place I lived in I knew it would take ages to meet enough women of my own age group - so - I had a wee think and ended up putting an article in the local paper saying I was looking for girlfriends - well that is how the reporter worded it. I knew there were quite a few people had been moving to the area. I had many phone calls - we met at a coffee shop, and met each week for coffee - the group then expanded into going out for lunch once a month, some learnt to play Mah Jong, we visited gardens, formed a 'book club' - which ended up chatting and having coffee or tea more than about books! My message here is 'Don't be the one to sit by the fire - be the one to light the fire' ...! I used that little gem because I knew that 'if it is to be, it's up to me' (Some 'slogans' I've found handy).

I'm not saying you should do what I did but sometimes one has to move out of a 'comfort zone' to make changes. I have also taken part in workshops, courses and the like, to expand my world.

It's not easy to do something different sometimes, but I hope I've given you some food for thought!

Good to have you here ........ Daze
