Where I'm at today...

I feel safe writing this today, this is one of my better days I have a friend who encouraged me into poetry... I'm not so good at it but it is a great way of letting a few feelings out. I'm off to escape in a book and enjoy a bit of that sunshine.

Brief Escape

Staring at my pc screen
Sitting here remain unseen
It’s hard to look, I’m full of shame
For surely I’m the one to blame
The loneliness I feel inside
It makes me want to run and hide
Locked inside this prison cell
Stuck inside this life of hell
Scared to walk outside the door
Don’t want to do this anymore
I’m thankful for my little dog
Who takes from the blinding fog
She helps me to walk out that door
Into the world I know no more
She smiles at me appreciatively
We find a park, I set her free
The stick we found, just one last throw
Then all too soon its time to go
And homeward bound we are once more
Back safe again, I lock the door

Well written and a good poem, glad you have an outlet in poetry, art is another good form as well.

Hi kandco ..... yes, a dog is such a great friend and fun! I hope, in time, you'll expand your world and go further and further out into the big wide world. Sooooo much to see and explore .... BUT, I do understand your feeling safe behind your locked door. .... Daze

one day you'l get spotted by a prospective lover kandko
and the door fall off its hinges...
from the repetitive opening and closing
ofcommings and goings,the little doggie run off its feet.

I walk my dog all the time but yet i would never walk around the street by myself!
