Flies and New Glasses.
I might need new specs – the time seemeth to have finally come. I don’t wear them except when I’m outside now, my flat is so small, my vision seems to have adapted after nearly three years here.
I hate Flies. I especially hate flies in my flat. I sprayed a few houseflies early last evening and noticed the spray can was near empty.
Making a drink, in the darkish kitchen area, I saw the biggest blimmin fly I’d seen in a while. On the Net Curtain above the sink bench. Eeeeeew.
I wasn’t keen to splat it in case it fought back and won, or in case I had to spend the next hour de-flying the kitchen of squished bits.
So I cunningly snuck up with the last of the fly spray and gave this thing, the size of a Bluebottle, the whole lot. Didn’t miss with a drop pf poison.
Ha. Not having huge flies like that in MY Flat thank you very much.
Some half hour later, I noticed a bit uneasily, that the said very large fly, hadn’t budged an inch. It was as if I had not bothered to spray it. Hmmmm.
I hunted around for my specs, turned the light on in the kitchen and discovered I’d wasted the last of my fly spray, on a hole in the net curtain. The big dark black thing wasn’t a fly, but the Universe, as blearily seen through the hole in my net curtain.
I need new specs. And fly spray. And um, spare Net Curtains anyone?
Paddy.
