Stranger in Christchurch looking for support group

I am so glad I stumbled over your forum in my desperate need for help while feeling Depression is creeping up to me AGAIN. Since I was a kid I´ve known those black deep wholes, somehow always been able to pull myself through until the darkest pit I fell in beginning of 2012 where I was so low I did not want to live anymore. 3 months of hospital with every day individual and group therapy and intensive mindfulness practise, as well as Antidepressant (contiuning to take SSRI) has helped me move out of the pit and make some major life adjustments: Quitting my Job in Europe and move to NZ on a working hliday visa to be with my boyfriend and find new way of living.
I am here now since 2,5 months and finding a job has prooved to be way more difficult as I thought. Also the living together with a man and a kid with all its adventages is definatly challenging. Since about 4 weeks I´ve been feeling depression creeping up again with all these things like not feeling worthy and stuff. I have gone up with the SSRI but I feel what I need most is people to talk too, weho know what depression is like. So I am looking for a support group for depression here in Christchurch and people that are interested in supporting each other with talking, walks on the beach and stuff.
Anyone in Christchruch interested in keeping in touch?
Anyone knowing of a good support group here?

I've never posted on here before but Im also in Chch with depression/anxiety issues. Im also looking for a support group with people with some of the same issues as me, who I can talk to without feeling weird about it. Terrified of it actually but I think it will be helpful!

Ive just made an appointment to see a support worker at MHAPS on Colombo St to see if they might be able to help me. They lead discussions and have talks on anxiety etc, and their website says they are keen to set up support groups. Not sure what it's like since I haven't been yet but maybe they might be what you're after too?

Sounds great, maybe you guys can private message eachother... wish I lived there and could tag along. Is lovely having friends to walk and chat with that actually UNDERSTAND.
