Today is April fools day.....WHY do we have this day??????? I googled and ..........

April Fools' Day, sometimes called All Fools' Day, is one of the most light-hearted days of the year. Its origins are uncertain. Some see it as a celebration related to the turn of the seasons, while others believe it stems from the adoption of a new calendar.

Does anyone know WHY??? Just wondering....

Hi Poetry dear

Something to do with the change from the Julian to the Gregorian calender.

Those folks (lacking the internet and radio as they did in the dark ages) who

continued using the old calender were called "Fool", ( a fool is also another

name for a pudding) and the rest is history. Because messages /letters/contracts/ writs/shipments were sent and received on the wrong days by "fools" so they would be duly belittled and pranks played back on them.

I got this from a Scottish encyclopaedia so it must be right.

haha i played a prank on my boy last night, folded the sheet on his bed so that wen he got in it, well he couldnt lol he thought it was hilarious... him and i also did prank fone calls to his grandparents, ringing and haning up then finally telling them APRIL FOOLS! lol... its a great day to have a bit of fun, we quite often do lil pranks on each other no matter what month it is... a common phrase in our house.... APRIL FOOLS IN DECEMBERRR!! lol
