I have a date!
Am meeting someone for lunch on Friday. My manger has approved me to use some of my time in leiu so I have an hour for lunch.
I upgraded my membership on NZDating to gold and started talking to a 31yo. We have similar intrests and hobbies and have had a couple of long chats on the phone and text conversations. She is quite keen to see my cross stitch.
I am a bit nervous as I have not been on a date for some years now. The first two hurdles are out of the way, she knows about my MH issues and conviction and isnt worried about them and she has depression herself.

Whats her Mum like, buddy?- Feel free to drop me name into the conversation, if she's Single, Ros.
Nah seriously, Good For You Ros - its awesome seeing you regain confidence and more hope and interests in your life.
And, that 'Cross Stitch' Line Worked did it?
Thats got me thinking, mate. I'm sure me local Op Shop has one for sale for a dollar of so - I could pretend its all me own work, lol

Mmmm, Ros?
This Thread seems to have slipped the evil eye of the Team here Ros, I bet you were hoping it would stay that way, mmm? Fat Chance, buddy.
So come on, spill the beans to me (no one else'll read this mate, what are the chances, with so many other messages here at TBBD now, eh?)
Did you both have a pleasant time in each others company?
Right, thats the polite, disinterested bit dealt with. Now, the importan stuff.
Whats her mum like? Didja mention me to her? Say what a SNAG I is? Nah, ya selfish bugger, I bet ya didn't, didya. All about you, aye, I know. Some mate you turned out to be.
Ros, good on ya for making an effort to extend your circle friends and stuff.

Re: I have a date!
Yes we had a good time, we have met a couple of times for lunch and spent sometime together other the easter break. We got some dvds and had had fish and chips plus a bottle of wine.
We are taking things casually as she has some things she needs to work through, but in saying that so do I.
Sorry Paddy her mother is happily married.
