Redundancy
So I find out that I will be made redundant due to the governments line by line slashing of the contract that I work under. No money = no job. Well thanks John Key! I guess that people who provide job seeking help to those experiencing mental illness is an unworthy field to fund adequately.
So I am, like many others around the world, in the search for a new job. A smile remains on my face but the uncertainty is none to easy to take. I must say that the stress is building as the moment approaches coupled with no news yet returning from applied for jobs.
Well I'll keep it positive. I may end up at MacDonald’s. But I'll survive at least to the end of this post

Try to keep positive
Like I said, someone with your talents will be fine.
What type of job do you think you will be looking for and in what area?

Re: Redundancy
Best Wishes, GR.
I'm sure it is still quite an unpleasant experience - it was in my day and I can't see it having got much nicer so fingers crossed, my friend.
I really hope that you find not 'just a job' but somewhere that empowers you to fulfil your sense of vocation (does RF need Key Workers?).
Keep us posted please GR, and if you need anything that you think we might be able to help with, just tell us, please?

Re: Redundancy
Hi GR, I do hope you find yourself another job soon - not just any job but a job that you feel is enjoyable/worthwhile/interesting. Redundancy is not nice. We've experienced it several times, and not with a payout! Best of Luck. Success is getting up one more time than you fall down. Let us know how you're doing.

Re: Redundancy
Hi all, sorry for the long absence. I have had a crazy time, but have finally gained employment, and it all seems to have worked to my advantage. Thanks for all your well wishes also. I am now the Administritive and Marketing Manager at a local insulation installation company. Also, I'm teaching marketing at a local english language school. How have you all been?

Re: Redundancy
congrats on the new job...or rather jobs!!! that must have been a real weight lifted.
it is a horrible feeling in a recession to find your position can't continue...my husband had this in the '80s when we were very much a 1 income household...and this time round it has caused me to lose half my hours, for a while it looked like I would have nothing...so I know what it is like.

Re: Redundancy
Awesome, buddy.
I'm so pleased that you have found employment. I was worried you'd have to go and work for WINZ and I wouldn't wish that on anyone, much less someone I like (I worked for them).
Take care, GR.

Re: Redundancy
