There is also Warmline there number is 0800 200 207 from 7pm -1am Tues - Sun. The people there have all experienced mental illness themselves so have an understanding of it.

It's a support group for women suffering a condition called endometriosis, started pretty much for the same reason as thebigblackdog - total frustration at our trademe thread being removed repeatedly.

Manawatu supporting families in mental illness provide a drop-in centre for people that experience mental illness, support for families/ carers of people with mental illness, and run a male peer-support group, families/ carer support group and a depression support programme.

Not really an emergency contact but useful for anyone looking for councellors in christchurch. I know a few people who attend petersgate and find them really good. Their fees are also income based, the lower your income, the lower your fees. They also have some useful links on their homepage.

Assessment, intervention and ongoing treatment for people over the age of 18 with serious psychiatric disorder and/or severe emotional/behavioural problems of a psychological nature.

Referral Criteria
The Community Mental Health Service will accept referrals from general practitioners, self, hospital, community agencies, and family or friends with client’s permission.
