Hmmm
If its still here in a few years time, I'm going to have to place an ad in the local paper and shops, I think.
Last night, a young female tabby cat demanded I open my front door and let her in.
I've never seen her before but someone must be missing her. What a friendly, super-confident young cat.
She's very well housetrained, she enjoys Purina biscuits, her tummy fur is just growing back from her having been speyed, she let me cut her claws ('cos she was making bread on my sleeves and it felt like needles going in) AND she thinks she's cute enough to not only demand sleeping rights ON my bed, but she thought she should clamber IN it too. I'm not saying if she managed to or not, you make up your own minds.
I don't think her purrbox has shutup for more than 10 minutes since she walked in last night and at the moment, she's snuggled on my lap at the puter. The front door has been open for hours (its still not very warm, is it) and although she has followed me outside and had a look around, she beats me back indoors.
Oh dear. I'm going to miss her, when I can figure out where she belongs. Bloody cats. It has been nice stroking her fur and listening to her purrs, but. I wonder if I can negotiate visiting rights with her real servants, when I find them?

Re: Hmmm
Unfortunately, I got a bit fed up with the cat this afternoon.
After some deliberation, I decided to put her down.
Bloody cat.
She jumped right back up onto my lap, just where I wanted my book to be.

Re: Hmmm
That sweet little cat tried twice to kill me today.
But I'm tougher than she thinks.
First, she tripped me up and I landed very heavily. But it didn't do the job.
Realising I was down but not out, she then tried to simultaneously suffocate and drown me.
She sat on my chest and licked my whiskers. Yuck, and I couldn't do much about it, for a while. Mind you, for an attempted murder, she was very nice about it; she purred the whole time.
Quite fond of chicken, too, she is.

Re: Hmmm
Hi Pat
You sound like you are having a ball.
Dare I ask what happened to Miss Alice?? I'm so sorry to read that she doesn't appear to be around anymore.
The most sookiest cat I had was young Ratbag whom I handraised from a kitten, he was only a few weeks old when I came across him and he was the most affectionate loving cat I ever had. He would dribble with contentment and I so loved him.
Unfortunately I am quite allergic to cats now but that doesn't stop us from having two cats at home. Ruby is who getting on and must be about 8 now and Rosie who is about 2 years old and full of mischief - she keeps the dog in line - NOT.
Anyway that's my story. You enjoy your little friend Pat, cats are a huge comfort and great company when they are in the mood.

Re: Hmmm
Well, this bloody Tabby is certainly making itself it home.
It has just hooked a piece of shortbread off a plate and is eating it as I type. And she thinks I didn't notice. I know, I should have stopped her, I shouldn't have sniggered, but it was so craftily done. Bloody Tabbies. She likes cracker biscuits too.
Alice was quite unwell and had a kidney problem, for which she was being treated. I tried to keep her in, she was desperate to go outside and after several days I let her. I watched her walk away down the back of this place and she has not been see since. Over a month, now. And a lot of searching by a lot of people. And tears. Lots of tears.
Then, this Thing, this Bloody Tabby, turns up and takes over. It will be a braver person than I who tells it Pat can't afford shortbread for it every day.
