OMG my bloody manager

Post by logical-cents on Tue Apr 14, 2009 7:43 am

So go to work today feeling like crap, there on time as usual, open the blinds down my isle, do one of tomorrow orders, other than how I'm feeling, the mornings going ok. Down the isle looking at where to start and manager comes down asking if I'd mind popping over to deli for 10-15 mins to see how the chickens are put on in the morning for Anzac Day next week. Yep that's all good. Standing there watching and listening and all's going well.

When they are done I asked her if it was all good if I could go back to my isle, managers response? 'Yep, you're worthless here to me anyway *pause* do you want to go home?' I was shocked and just walked away, brought it up with the store manager 30mins or so later when doing the rest of tomorrow's orders and so my manager got a bit of a telling off, which I feel a bit bad for, but hearing things like I'm useless, is stuff I grew up with coming from dad so hit me a bit.

Then when the store manager brought it up to her she tried to deny it happening and saying it but had a witness who was just as shocked, so then manager changed it to bring up the fact that I'd texted her on Sunday saying I was sick and asking for someone to do Monday's tickets for me. So what? Does that make me worthless? So therefore, me getting up bloody earlier yesterday morning, feeling like complete crap and going into work for an hour to put up bloody tickets for her, and the fact that I came to work today feeling the same, all that makes me worthless? All the work I do makes me worthless? Yea bloody right.

Hugs LC. This says more about their management skills than it does about your ability. unfortunately, supermarkets don't hire 'good' department managers.

Take pride in the world you did, and what you did achieve. You achieved so much more than when you were considering not going in. be proud. Your manager doesn't know you, she doesn't know your situation, and as I said, not a good manager at all. A good manager would make their staff feel valued.

Hang in there.

Thanks jaffa, same manager succeeded in sending me home from work few hours early today. Only because she had the store manager and HR manager on her side. Even though I'm annoyed coz I had couple of things to do, guess it is better. I'm freezing, and shaking, yet they said I look flushed and hot, and hot to touch. My manager reckons I've got a fever, I dunno, I just know I wanna feel warm
