A few of the things I've written over the years Empty A few of the things I've written over the years

Post by logical-cents Thu Apr 09, 2009 11:22 pm

Found these while tidying up some files on my computer. They're things I've written over the past few years. Have others as well, but thought I might share a few of them.

All Alone

All alone,
Day becomes night,
Night becomes day,
But it’s just me all alone.

Small dark room,
Walls closing in,
No room to move,
Breathe or stretch.

Walls get closer,
As the room becomes darker,
Suffocating around me,
Bang,
The gun in my hand goes off.

This one is a few years old now, was written before I was told I had depression, and when I thought my father hated me and wished that they had never adopted me.

Hurt

You hurt me when you are meant to care,
You called me worthless
And a self-righteous bitch

You’re meant to be my father,
You’re meant to be there for me,
You wouldn’t care if I fell from a tree.

Why do you hurt me?
I just want to know.
Every time I do something
I’ve done something wrong.

It doesn’t matter what I do,
You disapprove all the time.

But I’ll be here till the day you die,
Just remember that,
I’ll always be here.

Don't have a title for this one.

The blade pierced through her skin
Blood ran down the inside of her arm
Pain or pleasure?
The two were mixed inside
To her they equaled the same
Nothing.
It was not pleasure.
More a chore,
Something to be done when things got bad
It was not pain.
Pain was there at first,
Six or seven months ago was pain,
It didn’t register anymore.
A habit some people would say.
Who cares?
No one
She watched her blood slither slowly down,
Too much to stop.
Slipping in and out of conscious
She lay down on the cold hard floor.

A dedication to a mate J.T. We meet when I was in a very bad place, and although he was quite a few years older than I was he understood where I was coming from as he suffered depression as well. I meet him before I was told I had depression, but he was there when I was told and when I started medication, I'd known him for about 2 years before he committed suicide.

A Dedication

You were there when I was down,
You were there when times were bad,
And you were there to wipe away my tears.
But now that you’re gone I’ve not yet forgotten,
All the times that you were there for me and I there for you,
Both rain and shine, good and bad.

You put the faith in me,
Like no other person ever had.
You made me look into life,
As if it were something beautiful,
From long, long ago.

As your blood trickled from open wounds,
Down your face, your hands and your body.
I’m so sorry,
But, I could not keep back the tears,
When you were no longer there
To wipe them away.

At only twenty-five,
You had a whole eight years ahead of me,
Your hair was blonde, it was almost gold
And to look into your big blue eyes,
Not finding warmth and recognition
But instead staring back at me with a darkness
Never seen before in your eyes.

To see you lying there so still was frightening,
All the life of your happy filled mind and soul
Had disappeared without a trace.

What you did not know
Was that I took your hand in mine,
While it was still warm.

I had not yet come to terms,
With all that had happened.
But it only took a second,
For my world to come crashing down,
In one big bang my world suddenly changed,
I discovered that you were gone,
And never coming back.

I did not know what I had done wrong,
Or if it was me at all,
You were not there to take my hand in yours
And tell me everything will be all right
And that I am not to blame.

You were one light of my life,
You were the only one who cared.
It was not an accident, I know,
That is what hurts the most.

I will not forget you,
But life will go on,
Slowly my life will go on,
You are the one that will stay,
In my heart forever,
I shall never forget you.

My friend,
You were like my older brother,
You brought life to me,
Life I thought could not be.

I shall always remember and never forget,
The good times we had,
The good things we shared.
You will never be forgotten,
But instead held inside my heart
Forever and ever.
I still love you with all my heart.

This is one I haven't shared before, it's a bit more recent, I'm still not fully happy with it though, so it's kinda a work in progress. I miscarried at 16 weeks last year and after a while decided that even though I didn't know the sex he deserved a name, hence Jay was decided upon.

To my angel Jay;

I never got to hold you in my arms,
Never a chance to kiss you good night.
I never got to wipe away your tears,
To fix your hurt or take away your pain.

You will never hear my voice, or the lullabies I sing to you,
You will never run free, play with friends of your own,
I never got to see your smile, hear your laughter, see your tears,
See your eyes; hold your hand against mine, have you lay on my chest.

My heart is torn and part of it’s with you,
But I know it’s safe in your hands.
You brought joy to me in those few weeks
You were going to make me a mother for all to see.

But then I realise that I already am,
For I’m a mother to something special
An angel that no-one can see
And I know deep down that my angel is up there
Looking down over me.

GO FOR IT.......send in one of your poems to your area paper and see it in print. My son did when he was seven.

Not keen enough to get them published. Wouldn't know where to start and would mean that people can see what I write. I don't mind posting here but not sure bout putting it out for the world. Although in saying that some of these pieces and some of the stories were used in school assignments, wonder what my teachers thought.
