so its been three months since my dh made the call to the mh unit and got the tact team involved because he was so worried about me, 3 months since i started on an anti depressant, and quiatiapine to make me sleep after so long suffering insomnia or was it depression? I had hoped all this crap might have helped me turn the corner, all these people supposedly trying to help me, but still i feel so sad, so lost, so alone, so dammed isolated and so so so over it all. They give me all this printed matter as homework, dont they listen to the fact that i have been unable to concentrate on tv, or movies, nor even read more than one book in all that time??? im sure hoping this is not as good as it gets, at 48 i feel duped, ripped off, short changed. ok that's enough, rant over blah blah blah thats me today  Crying or Very sad

Hi there, I was started on quetiapine because I hard hardly slept a full night for years, in fact I could go days without proper sleep. It worked wonders and after 3 proper nights sleep I started to feel better. Most mental health teams help from information they learned in a book. Ive always found it hard to relate to psych team people. I have found some good counsellors out there. its a matter of visiting a few until you "click" with someone.
Life does get better, but we have to work at it. I wasted nearly 30 years of my life until i was properlly diagnosed with a mental illness and a few little pills make my day a bit brighter. I still have down days and some of which dont end for weeks. ... but the sun always comes back out.
Hope you find what your looking for.
