Just stuff I've recently done
I have yesterday got back to me little flat, after spending 10 awesome days with absolutely lovely friends, in Christchurch. I can't recall 10 days ever going quite so fast, ya know. Bless you both, Marian and Graeme for being such wonderful friends.
The things which I have done and experienced and lived through, ya wouldn't believe, cor.
Not just the earthquakes (bugger) but I went to a couple of Malls, I went out for coffees, I went to another persons house, I went to the air force museum at Wigram with a friend as mad about flight as I am, I had a pint of beer in a garden bar and didn't wanna take on the World, I had a fantabulous Xmas Lunch with me dear friends, in an inner city restaurant which was packed. I've had a few glasses of wine and only got a bit noisy (I hope???), I've been for a drive through the grounds of me old 'Bin' (Sunnyside) and chose only to recall a few of the better memories from there, I walked more than I thought I could, I didn't stamp me feet and whinge when it was time for me to sit in a wheelchair when me body tried to tell me it had had enough, and I have laughed and talked and eaten too much and really, really just generally surprised myself at what I managed to do and enjoy. And I slept like I didn't think was possible. I walked on a beach at Cave Rock, Sumner and saw the Pacific Ocean again.
Cor. Who is this stranger wandering around in my knackered body?
Now I'm back here and realising just how much 'life' there can be outside four walls, if one makes the effort.
Yeah I'm a bit worn out, but I have no regrets about anything I pushed myself to do, 'cos I bloody well did them safe in the certainty that me friends wouldn't 'make' me do anything, and that everything I did do, was my choice. Well done, lad, well done indeed!
Proud Paddy.

Good on you little brother! I KNEW you would (and could) enjoy your time away.
Such a great achievement when one understands anxiety - that's what all the learning, reading, talking things out, etc, then doing, has made possible!
So good to have some FUN???????? ................... Daze

Dear Paddy
Great news that you had a "normal" life with your friends in CHCH.
If only we all of us made that wee bit extra effort it would pay us in spades. I know this cognitively that no matter how rotten and low we feel we have to "make" ourselves enjoy things.
I am doing so with funny DVD's like Father Ted, and some Brit comedians.
I think it was Daizy who spoke of doing this and it works.
Now if only there were something to help the old memory.
Love Martine
and a happy new year to you.
