Photography and Photographers welcome aboard :)
I thought this might be a nice wee post (new topic) for sharing our pics.... I am thinking about and when I am in the right head space, to venture into the 'world' and do a photography course

Re: Photography and Photographers welcome aboard :)
I have found a correspondence course in Beginners Digital Photography. The course costs $1100.00. I am hoping that TBBD members can rally up some hard out prayers. Dreams ah...

Re: Photography and Photographers welcome aboard :)
DSE had a sale on samsung cameras, one of them had the features I was looking for and at the right price. I'm not a photographer/artist person, so most of my photos turn out crap and it is a cheap camera which doesn't help. Anyhow here's a macro shot I took of a small flower, that didn't turn out too bad:
I might go for a wonder this week and see if I can find anything interesting to photograph, depending on weather and mood of course.

Hi Doclazy
I didn't take that course due to health
Are you keen to do a photography course? Some high schools run photography night classes, maybe something to look into. I love your photo, I've never been able to take macro photos.... Love the blurred background effect too.
Keep posting your photos Doclazy, a good motivator..take up the challenge..double dare yah

Re: Photography and Photographers welcome aboard :)
Films all good, there really isn't much of a difference between using film and digital cameras. Once you master one you should be able to get the hang of the other.
At this point I think I have had enough of schooling, it will likely end in disaster, again, for me. I've just been reading articles on the internet and studying other peoples photos, to try and get a good idea of what makes a good photo. I'm still not sure if I have any really talent, and it doesn't help I haven't really been getting out. I have taken a few hundred pictures around the house(99% are rubbish or me trying something), mostly to get the hang of this camera and to see what effect the different settings have. At least I now see why DSLRs cost so much. Getting this camera to do what I want is difficult... but a great learning experience.
A couple of shots that are okayish:
This turned out bad, but it's what I have been feeling like the last couple of weeks:

Re: Photography and Photographers welcome aboard :)
okay ish...???? Okay ish...???? they are great...!!.. I love the yellow bits on the red flower!
watch out for your focal point.. if you have flowers with things sticking out toward you focus ont he point you really want clear and the rest will blur around it. If you want the whole thing clear step back a bit and zoom in.
keep it up.. I'm looking forward to your next lot.
Cheers
Donna

Here's some I've taken in the past, they are a bit old and would love to take more but don't have a camera at present.
Got this one as my background at the moment.

I think I might tried that with the red flower, I don't quite remember why I didn't take any pictures using the zoom though, I have an idea the depth of field may have been too deep. Focusing on the right place has been a bit of a problem for me. I'm not sure if I'm too shakey or what. I'll think that's what i'll work on next, all these photos have mostly been about trying to get the exposure and colours the way I want them, and figuring out how to work around this cameras short comings.
Do you do much photography? I'd like to see your pics if you do.
