I use to be a volunteer with a Rural Fire Force. Due to personal circumstances I am no long a volunteer and I carried a lot of guilt and shame with what had happened. I left the fire force in 2007.

The other day I loaded some photos from my days with Rural Fire onto my facebook.

A friend of mine says that is hugh progress Smile

Can't you go back to it Ros, its great work they do and they are all heroes it would be wonderful if you could give even just a few hours.

I am going to learn to drive so one day I might be able to even answer the phone or make the tea.

No I can't go back to it sadly, I had a breakdown which resulted in a conviction. Am getting involved in other ways where I am able to use the skills I learnt.

A couple of years ago I designed the emergency management plan for two PHOs and also for work. In the comming weeks I have been asked to review them.

I am working with a sister NGO up the coast to develop their emergency management plan.

This weekend I was involved with a amater radio field day as a rigger and they have offered to help me gain my radio licence.

I also have the paperwork for Red Cross on my desk which is being lodged tomorrow.
