Great to find this place!
Hi
What a relief. I've only really begun to want to share 'my crap' with others just recently. I turned to my family finally and realised that talking and support really help. Almost two decades of life interrupted by chaos, recovery and fear has left me socially isolated. So glad to be here.
Thanks Paddy for hosting this forum and hope we get the chance to talk.

Hi G!
I read what you wrote about chaos, recovery, fear, and social isolation, and I can really relate to what you say. I have recently had more awareness of the chaos in my life, and how that not only negatively effects me, but also the people I care about, and who care about me. Im really trying to look at the role I play in the chaos, and seeing what I can do to change it. Its hard work, and hard to look at myself with that in mind.
I hope youre doing okay.
Maisie

Re: Great to find this place!
Thanks for the welcome.
Maisie, that's exactly the realisation I had to come to - it took a while. I was taking risks with not taking medication for years and me and the people who care about me paid the price many times. There's still so much to wrok on though, The many episodes I have had, some very disruptive for me and scary when I see them from other people's view, have resulted in a permanently fragile state. I'd like to trust that I can make rational decisions but when its hard to fathom whether you're thinking is right its hard to trust yourself. Most days are good for me, being a loner by nature means that the social isolation doesn't get to me too much. But its the lack of perspective that sahring things with others that I miss the most. So I try to be honest with those i can trust and do have time with.

Re: Great to find this place!
I can really understand where youre coming from G, but you know what? I think its real progress to get to this point, and importantly, I think its essentially a hopeful place to be, and where real forward progress can be made from. I dont think you will be in a fragile state permanently - I think you will move on from there. Hugs.
