Advice on unexplainable injuries Empty Advice on unexplainable injuries

Ok... I really must be losing my mind... On sunday morning I discovered a burn on my arm about 5cm long and I've got no idea how I got it. I always seem to have little bruises on my body that I can't explain but I've never thought anything of it. However this burn has got me stumped. The worst part about it is that the blister is actually in the shape of a errmmm 'male body part', I am failing to see the funny side at the moment, its covered with a plaster but I'm terrified its going to scar. Especially since its summer time.
I genuinely don't have a clue how this happend, I've been retracing my steps and I havn't even been around anything hot in the last 24hrs. Except a small citronella candle...Surely I would have felt it if I put my arm over it! I had long sleeves on and my sleeve isn't damaged in anyway.
Its got me wondering if I've done it in my sleep. Its the only thing I can think of. But even that doesn't seem possible as I was sleeping with my partner and I would of had to of climbed over him to get out of bed and would of woken him up. By the way I wasn't drunk... thats the first thing everyone says.
Its really bugging me. Question

WOW it turns out its a white tail spider bite. So relieved I know what happend now! I didn't know they blister like burns but apparently so. My whole arm is numb today and I'm feeling light headed so off to the doctor this arvo.

Good on you JB at least you know it wasn't self inflicted.

Your arm must be really sore after a spider bite. Wise move to go to the Doctor.

Hey ther JaeBee

I'm glad you have found out what caused the burn looking mark, but not to hear your in pain due to a spider bite. I am amazed spiders bite, don't know why, guess it's the "Don't be scared of spiders, they can't hurt you" Well... they can sheeks

Not even a mossie net will keep us safe!!!! There is a spray for ridding homes of spiders and other pests, I 'don't' use it, don't need to down here...too cold BUT you can purchase it from the warehouse and it does work. It is a cheap version of getting the professionals in. Ask at the warenui (warehouse)

Good luck today with your GP

Thanks for the book tips

Do you know what it is called Poetry? I have spiders galore in my home and as it is an old house with a high stud I find it difficult to get rid of the cobwebs and I am too sort to kill the spiders by hand. If I see one I put it outside. I know killing them with a burst of chemicals still kills them but hopefully that would just be once and it would stop them reproducing at such an alarming rate.

Hi Bluebird

I can't remember the name, but it is a hand held spray. Yellow in colour, and has a spider on it LOL. Next time I'm in town I'll call into the Warehouse and find the name for you.

Like you I put spiders outside, it has taken most of my adult life to navigate the blighters on a spade and not scream for help!!!! I don't think I would cope with a 'galore' of spiders tho.

The name I'd give the spider spray is:

***No more Spider screamers***

I think I may know the range. There is a range of products that are bright yellow and they are named No More Spiders and No More Ants and so on. I will give it a try.
