I have no idea what it is like to lose a child, of any age. I can't begin to understand how hard that must be, and I expect you might need counselling for such a trauma for years..

Its true you are the same person that you were, but you must surely be an older wiser version. There are so many cliches jumping into my head.. "you will be stronger because of going through this"... " what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" etc.. but none of that will make a spec of difference until you are ready to hear it.

One thing I do know about grief is that there is no time frame on it.. One year.. one decade, one lifetime.. it will sneak up on you when you least want it to. In the mean time you have a life of your own to live.

Take VERY gentle care of yourself. .

Dear Little Star

I hope you are OK.

Losing a child is a tragedy which no person should be called on to endure, and there are trained and qualified counsellors who can go down that path with you, if you are unemployed there are free sessions available to you but only if you want them.

Please be really nice to yourself and go back to your Doctor, maybe antidepressants are not for you, but professional guidance is, and I sincerely hope that you are able to accept it.

Yes you are your own person, yes you are allowed to enjoy life again, and laugh again, you are not only "the mum of the baby that died" that is part of you not all of you.

Love to you

Martine
