I realise i do have something i can be proud of, so i will share. This is Dipup (a mix of Dip, his baby name, and pup, which is what the litter were all called by, it sort of stuck and turned into his name lol). He's 3 1/2 months now and i've had him from a couple of days old, bottlefed 2 hourly at the start along with his littermates. I didn't plan to keep him, but of course by the time they were big enough to start going to homes they were all my babies, after the endless hours of bloody hard work i couldn't bear to say goodbye to them all and so dip being the favourite stayed here. Plus i've always had two dogs and we lost our old boy a few months beforehand, so it seemed like the right time to get another mate for my other boy.
Anyway Dip just grows and grows and grows and i think he's going to be heaps bigger than his dam, probably more like a lean heading-shaped huntaway than a tiny heading dog like mum. He's very clever (of course hehe), picks up tricks super fast and is beautifully behaved for a baby. And he loves to herd the neighbours bloody cat everytime it comes over - he's got really good at it and can start it moving, then head it off properly, turn it back, hold it in place etc. Once he's bigger i'll be taking him out to a mates farm for training sessions to learn to do a bit of sheep moving, since he obviously has the instincts for it and would really enjoy it - having a work breed as a pet means thinking of lots of things to keep him stimulated and not bored. So that should be lots of fun for both of us. And lots to learn too lol.

Anyway the last week or so his ears have suddenly decided they're not going to be flat back-pressed huntaway ears after all, they must stand up like my shepherd, so they sprung up in the air so high they spend most of the day crossed over at the top. He looks so silly and clown like its keeping me smiling every time he looks at me. I'm sure he'll grow into them more and they'll end up looking like collie ears, but they are lol in the meantime Smile
