Manky Bastards I'd like to Meet...
Just one at a time, but I wouldn't mind a few moments to share my thoughts with the manky little bastards that burgled the Marton Op Shop , got less than $200 in cash and burnt the place down as they left. About 2am today.
Not only has our community here now lost the 'op shop' bit of what they did there, but the Foodbank was there too - thats 'toast' if the pun isn't in too much bad taste?
The counselling and budget advisory records they held, for so many local folk whom they've helped, were all kept on site in their office. Toast, too.
I so hope that the indignity offered to this community by those 'Humanoid Lice' is eventually offered back to them. Oh Karma, I have a job for you!
It is less than three weeks since I suggested to an elderly woman behind the counter at that op sho that a 'in public' count up of the Till with the doors open and people in the Shop, was not a safe idea.
I'm burning out Neurons trying to think of the 'description' of the three young hoodie wearing gentleman I noticed watching the cash-up from the footpath. I was abhored at how vulnerable this volunteer was making herself, by 'cashing up' like that and spoke to the woman about it. I also waited in the shop till she had taken a cash tin 'out the back' somewhere and then returned empty handed to the counter.
The ONLY good things that I can see in this is that no shop staff or customers were injured and that there is lot of local outrage, which hopefully will see people a) dobbed in and b) this shitholes community getting behind a replacement premises and Food Bank. I'll be giving them some Beans or whatever this week, myself.
What Scum that they are. An Op Shop and food bank. All destroyed.
Feck. I was getting me music tapes from that op shop, 20c each they were. As was a big piece of Tapa cloth and a few other more expensive treasures (some have cost nearly a dollar!). The op shop had become a 'destination' in itself here for me - I don't get around far on a mobility scooter, but the op shop was doable and two or three times a week, just popping in to see whats new - gone now. There is no 'alternative' eclectically interesting venue for me within my range.
Little Bastards. How dare they they to further isolate me. Who do they think they are?
Paddy.
Who unfortunately, lives in Marton. I find it interesting that the orignial name for 'here' is Tutaenui. And 'nui' is Big.
Marton is named after James Cook, who never did sail far enough inland to find it. But apparently JCook grew up near a place called Marton in the Mother Country and that was 'close enough' for those inspired township-namers back then.

Paddy that's terrible just to be pissed up against a wall or smoked or inhaled.
yes Karma will be busy and I am sure someone of your wisdom and talent will help find another venue with the people that run the opshop for you to visit. I love op shops too and have many treasures from them.
Its not that they're kids its just that they're nasty.
There are some good kids in hoodies too.

Gottem !!!

And I withdraw the snide comments about Marton, England - when their lot heard we'd lost an Opp Shop, they sent a cheque for 100 Pounds. Only then did they ask, 'Whats an Opp Shop?'
Gottem. Thanks You, Karma - And I'm impressed with the speed with which parts of this community acted to turn them in to Police. Well Dome, Marton.

Great news Paddy. Do you know if there are plans to rebuild or relocate?

Re: Manky Bastards I'd like to Meet...
It is, innit JK.
A temporary Op Shop opened in a vacant Farm Supply building on Monday.
According to the local rag yesterday, the 'new' op shop took in more than three grand on opening day. Its still really busy, I guess cos its all 'new' old stock - I confess to a few good buys meself this week.
