Botheration, TL - mmm that is going to mean some dietary changes 'n stuff, aye. I've just been told a bit about Type 1 diabetes recently myself, but I don't really know much about it in either variety, sorry.

But make sure your doctor gives you info and facts that you can understand, k?

If they say something you don't 'get' right there and then, cos often at doctors we just hear 'blah blah blah' after news like that, then ask them again. Too bad if they get grumpy, its our right to know and with the best info, we can hopefully make better choices.

Take care and on the bright side, we might get some 'Diabetic Friendly' recipes posted here, lol.

TL, here is the Link to the Diabetes.org website here in NZ. http://www.diabetes.org.nz/

At the bottom of that page, is a Clickable Link to information specifically about Type 2 Diabetes (there is a Link for Type 1 as well.)

It might be a good idea TL, to save that Site as a Favourite on ya computer if you don't already have it. Take care, You.

I dont know if you get dry mouth with your meds or not. The chemist has sugar free lollies which I use to use.

Also watch out for the weight watchers food, it may be low in sugar but it is high in fat which can be just as bad.

The only reason I know these is I had a friend who was diabetic.
