Psoriasis Effect on the Quality of Life:

Psoriasis is a disease whose main symptom is gray or silvery flaky patches on the skin which are red and inflamed underneath. In the United States, it affects 2 to 2.6 percent of the population, or between 5.8 and 7.5 million people. Commonly affected areas include the scalp, elbows, knees, arms, stomach and back. Psoriasis is autoimmune in origin, and is not contagious. Around a quarter of people with psoriasis also suffer from psoriatic arthritis, which is similar to rheumatoid arthritis in its effects. Psoriasis was first given that name in complete differentiation from other skin conditions by the Austrian dermatologist Ferdinand von Hebra in 1841, although there are what are believed to be descriptions of the disease in sources going back to ancient Roman and possibly even biblical times.

Mate,
thats a real interesting post, right up to the last bit, which me old mate Monty Python might say just carries with it, a slight odour of Spam?

By the by, I had Psoriasis so bad in the 1980's doing a particular type of professional work that I hated but was good at. I had to Lux me head and clothes before heading off to work, and I wore soft gloves and kept chemists etc wealthy. I got outta that line of work eventually and guess what? Change that and a few other things and it vanished, only to reappear in tiny, isolated spots under extreme stess. No creams, no Spam Sandwiches, just many much needed life changes.

So - please don't Spam us cos we have enough shit to deal with in our lives. I knew you'd understand that. Cheers.

Or as we say in Aotearoa, 'Go away please, if thats why you're here at TBBD.'

I knew a woman who suffered from it, she had to covered in ointment everyday after her shower to help stop the itch. It was prescribed by her doctor. I hope that it's not an affliction that you have. I'm not sure how your health system works in the UK, but if you do have psoriasis you can always buy it from that website for yourself if you wanted to.
