Collecting 'Things' Empty Collecting 'Things'

I have the 'Collecting' urge upon me once again, alas. I used to collect and know a wee bit about militaria, NZ - WW1 in particular, but divorce 'n stuff saw that sold off. I used to collect books too and still give in to the urge occasionally, but I aint got much room left in the bookcases where I am. But...

I reckon I have found one the Cheapest, Best Value for Money collectibles anywhere and since I'm such a wonderful chap, I thought I might share it with you. But, just with you, shhhhh, k?

Did you know, that on TradeMe, one can purchase quite a number of Upright Pianos for the magnificent sum of just ONE DOLLAR? K, so they don't deliver or post them, thats a down side, but crikey, I dare ya to have a look there at TM and tell me there aren't some bloody good bargains there in the peeanna section.

If like me, you can't read or play music, you could either stand them in a row on a shelf as a collection, or ya could pull the buggers to bits and build I dunno, Ivory Towers or something from the keys?

Beautifully aged timbers, all the scrap Brass and stuff inside, crikey, all for a dollar. What an opportunity. Look at them, it nearly makes me eyes water, to see how cheap they are.

One could purchase a large old outta tune peeanna and pay to have it delivered to a friends front door. Right in front of the door. Don't ring, just ease it down, and walk away chaps, pffft. Happy Xmas, I gotcha another peeanna, Surprise cheers

Paddy.

And um, No. Don't you dare. not anyone. Feck, just what I need in a tiny council flat.

I already have a peanna and no room for another, however I do collect piggies, started by collecting ornaments but have now branched out into real live ones. Along with my three piggies two came to visit over a week ago now, I suspect they were destined to be someones Christmas dinner, I think they must have suspected their probable fate and came here as my home is a well known refuge for all waifs and strays as long as they are not of the human variety. Anyhow the piggies are still here and I have tentatively named them Snap and Crackle so when/if their owners ever do fine out where they are hiding I will still be mindful that they are meant to be food. Anyway apart from pigs I collect old things as my home is very old and I have a heap of stuff from the local op shops that have caught my eye and have purchased for a mere song (admittedly though, in my case they pay me NOT to sing). I am hoping to find a lovely old comfy lounge suite for the lounge at a reasonable price and am sure one will come my way when the time is right.
