The Need For Relaxation Empty The Need For Relaxation

Post by surgery Thu Oct 01, 2009 6:41 am

The need for relaxation cannot be overemphasized. Engagements in daily problems can tie your emotions, nerves and body into knots. Constant strains like this can have long term effects on your life. You can develop ulcers, and a host of other physical problems. It can effect the nerves, cause you to have a negative attitude, and wreck havoc on your health. The stress is multiplied if you have a supervisor who has an overbearing and demanding attitude.

Constant pressure can cause loss of sleep, appetite, and other functions. Having a job you are not suited for accelerates the problem. We all have different abilities and temperaments. It is best for you and your employer if you have a job that suits your ability, ways of thinking, and doing things. If the job fits, your tasks will be natural for you to do.

The Need For Relaxation Empty Re: The Need For Relaxation

Thanks for sharing your idea. Here are my experience.
Tense muscles and nerves can be soothed by proper relaxation. Go home and find something that you love to do. Exercising helps relieve anxiety and stress. Reading or watching a movie helps to get your mind off work. Deep breathing helps relieve stress.

You must learn to completely relax to derive benefits from it. This can be done at home, or even at work, when you have a break. Sit or lie down, and relax muscles and body. Think about something pleasant. Your nerves will release their tension. You will experience a feeling of peace and relief. When you go limp and become like wilted lettuce, it will reduce stress.

Tight muscles and strained nerves can make it difficult to go to sleep. Let muscles release all support so body is at rest. Imagine that you are liquid, and feel yourself soaking into the mattress. Remove all thoughts, and look for pictures in your mind that you did not consciously put there. When this happens, you know your subconscious is taking over. Relax, enjoy the mind movie and drift off to sleep.

Some like to unwind with alcohol, but there is a danger of becoming addicted to it, and using it as a crutch. It is better to find peace of mind through your own satisfaction and contentment of life. The greatest contentment comes from the peace that Jesus gives. If you are a Christian, you know, or should know, the peace that passes understanding. If you are not a Christian, you should investigate the means to find salvation and peace of mind.
The peace that he gives us makes it unnecessary to worry about anything. It is not merely a psychological state of mind, but inner tranquility based on peace with God. It comes from committing all your cares to him and leaving them there. Worry can add nothing to one's life span, height, health, or anything else. His peace guards our hearts and minds and gives relief from anxiety. Artificial stimulants cannot match the peace he gives.

Humour is also another stress relief. If you cant find anything funny about your own life at the moment, have a look around and you will be sure to find something funny in someone elses. When I get very stressed, I like to walk, excercise and feel all that is around me. The best stress relief for me is climbing into the shower in the mornings, totally shutting down, breathing, and just experienceing all that is around me. Listen for the birds, listen for the children laughing, feel the water cascading down your body, feel the warm, feel how that makes you feel. There is sooo much beauty around us, but sometimes we get so caught up in all the negative stuff, that we forget to enjoy all the wonderful, simple things around us. Thankyou for shareing
