Paul McKenna – Book & CD
Has Anyone read the book and or listened to the companion CD by Paul McKenna?
I got it out from me Public Library so it should be quite easy to get a copy to borrow.
The book title is “INSTANT CONFIDENCE – The Power To Go For Anything You Want!" by
Paul McKenna ISBN 978 0 593 05535 9, Published by Bantam Press, 2006.
My Bad, my very, very bad.
I was really keen to sit down, read, learn, improve my confidence, listen to the cd, follow the suggestions etc. I was, truly. Unfortunately, I gave up because I could not listen and laugh at the same time and it was hurting me back, pffft.
Despite my very bestest intentions, within a page and half into the book, I was sorta nodding to meself and saying ‘Ah yeah, he’s …’. And he was. On lotsa other pages, I recognised some of the nuances and slightly different ways of phrasing words and modulating his voice. All most impressive, but instead of reading the book ‘n zenning out, I ‘analysed it.’
So, I put the book down ‘n stuck the cd in the cd-eating machine, turned the lights off 'cept for one little one (TBT is a wee bit scared of the dark some nights, ya know), settled back in a really comfy chair and it was 'Right, me mind is vacant, ‘tis all Yours, Paul.'
Dang.
Within a few minutes I was in hysterics and that’s about as valid an description as any. I’m sure it’s not what Paul had in mind for his audience and that somewhere, there are thousands of people who can listen and read without ripping it to bits to see how its made, sigh. Why can’t I be one too?
Paddy.
P.S. Despite my reaction to this book and cd, I’d actually probably recommend it because it surely is chock full of positive reinforcement suggestions. Its just, not for me.
