A poem I wrote

Some time back, after seperating from my partner, feeling let down, used, angry and devastated to name a few emotions, lol, one way I found to heal was to write. Thankfully I am now in a better space, but today I found one of my poems, so before I incinerate it, I thought I might share.

When I awake with tears of sad
I wonder if I ever had
The love I thought I was to you
I lie alone my life astrew

My tears are for the one I loved
The man I thought I could have trust
My heart is broken with the pain
I know in time will mend again

I gave it up my soul to you
You take so much, you know you do
You told me me that I was your world
And then you crushed me with your words

You played your game, you drew me in
I never knew I couldn't win
I played it well, I gave my all
But now I think I was your fool

When your darkness comes
And your veil unfolds
I wonder what your future holds
I hope its kind, that you might see
The man that meant so much to me
