Hi all, I was wondering if those of you who have taken Antidepressant medication would tell me what was the medication that has been the most successful for you in terms of lessening your Depression? I am asking this because I recognise that my depressive symptoms are escalating and I need to take medicine again.

I wish I didn't have to but I want some quality of life! I am appreciative of any information that you are able to share with me. Thanks in advance. Becks.

Hi everyone,

I have reasonably severe depression for many years now and am keeping pretty stable on a combination of 600mg daily of Effexor and Lithium. This was after trying Citalopram, Fluox and other SSRI's. Like most people, my goal is to reduce my drug intake and try to cope more "naturally" - in fact I tried St John's Wort a couple of months ago with disasterous results! Stupidly, I didn't check (or ask) about the effect that the combination may have. Suffice to say that ...

I am so confused now, a break - then another drug to adjust to??

What is the difference between the two. The doctor said that they both do the same thing, but in a different way......hmmm .... I am really struggling with this as I don't understand it.

Hi All.

Well I've seen my very first psychiatrist, and after complaining the first four didn't work, he has put me on a fifth time of medication.

Anyone tried moclobemide? Apparently this one works differently to most other antidepressants (SSRI's). It is an MAOI, so works on a different chemical.

Anyway I've been off my meds for a week, and have to go one more week before I start the new ones. If I go loopy, you know why Wish me luck.

1. Sitting and reading or watching TV

Here's where we start off the exercise scale but rather than class this as an exercise we refer to this as an activity. It does burn a little more energy than sitting quietly or sleeping, although the extra energy requirement comes from increased brain activity by consciously interpreting what was seen or read. Increased brain activity burns mostly carbohydrates however many other metabolic processes will use fat to fuel the processes, problem is there ...

When I take the other one at night though I feel really teary-eyed and like I'm gonna burst into tears at everything.
